WADESBORO — David Jefferson Crowell Jr., 69, died Nov. 29, 2012 at The Brian Center in Monroe.

Services were held Sunday by the graveside in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Norm Jones officiating.

The family greeted friends following the service and other times at the home of Leslie and Frank Hyatt in Polkton.

He was born Dec. 11, 1942 in Union County, a son of the late David Jefferson Crowell and Ethel DePass Crowell.

He was a graduate of Monroe High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston. He was a physician’s assistant and owned and operated West Anson Medical Clinic in Polkton for 25 years and later worked with Wadesboro Primary Care. He also worked as an emergency room physician at Carolinas Medical Center Union. He was a retired member of Anson Rescue Squad, where he had served as captain.

Surviving are his wife, Harriett Hyatt Crowell of the home; his daughters, Cathy Reynolds and husband, Ryan of Pawley’s Island, S.C., and Dede Crowell of Apex; his stepchildren, Tiffany Ingold and her son, Landon of Lilesville and Nick Ingold of Wadesboro; his sister, Margaret Crowell of Winslow, Maine; and his loving and devoted Dachshund, Molly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Hill Baptist Church, Brotherhood Ministry, c/o Teresa Wilson, 1104 Mt. Vernon Road, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
