LILESVILLE — Buddy Joe Cox, 74, died Nov. 1, 2012 at Ambassador Health and Rehab of Wadesboro. The family is receiving friends at the home of Buddy Joe and Cassie on 110 Ingram Mtn. Road, Lilesville. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Cox was born in Anson County on Dec. 13, 1937, a son of the late Ruben Silas Cox and Jewel Bowers Cox. He was a retired auto mechanic having owned and operated Auto & Cycle Shop in Lilesville.
Surviving are his wife, Cassie Williams Cox of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Joni Cox of Monroe; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Gene Howell of Wadesboro and Wanda and Brian Galligher of West Hartford, Conn.; his grandchildren, Leslie Griggs, Lori Burr, Jessica Martin, Camron Nance, AshLee Cox and Aiden Galligher. Also surviving are his siblings, Nell Conklin and Roy Cox, both of Wadesboro, and Judy Cox and Roger Cox, both of Lilesville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Buddy Joe “Joey” Cox Jr.
