POLKTON— Margie Ruth Brooks Hatley, 88, died Oct. 29, 2012 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Bost officiating. Burial followed in Anson Memorial Park. The family greeted friends prior to the service.

Hatley was born in Anson County on Oct. 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Leslie Pierce Brooks and Lila Ruth Moore Brooks. She was a lifetime member of Poplar Hill United Methodist Church. She was married to the late C.L. “Slim” Hatley and was retired from Polkton Mfg. with 30 years of service.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Patrick Taylor of Louisburg; a grandson, Douglas Hatley White of Louisburg; and one brother, Benny (Ann) Brooks of Wadesboro.
