Rachel Hyatt Moulton, 83, of Matthews, formerly of Beaufort and Morehead City, passed away at Lake Park Nursing and Rehab on Sept. 25, 2012.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel. The family will begin to receive friends at 6 p.m. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Oceanview Cemetery in Beaufort.

Moulton was born Aug. 13, 1929 in Anson County to the late John and Margaret Hyatt. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren Moulton Jr., daughter, Deborah Carol, and her beloved cat, Mountain Mouse.

She retired from Bell South after 40 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and C.W.A. She was also a member of Wightman United Methodist Church and the Y.W.C.A.

Moulton is survived by her sister, Katie Dimick (Gale) of Hollister, Calif.; brother, Frank Hyatt (Alice) of Chesnee, S.C.; son-in-law, Edward Pokrzywa (Helen); five nephews, two nieces and many extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wightman United Methodist Church in Polkton or The Children’s Home in Winston-Salem.
