MARSHVILLE — Graham Collins Sr., 93, passed away Dec. 16, 2012 at Hospice House in Monroe.

He was born in Union County on Oct. 23, 1919 to the late Joe S. and Neta Griffin Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martelia Nance Collins and four brothers, Hoyle, Bruce, Brice and Heath.

Collins was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII having served in Europe as an Infantryman with Co. G, 28th Infantry, where he earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Morgan & Son.

He is survived by his four children, Charles Collins Jr. of Indian Land, S.C., Fred Collins of Wingate, Mary Irene Trull of Marietta, Ga., and Virginia Collins Griffin of Indian Trail. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
