PEACHLAND — James Baxter Hinson, 81, of Peachland died Nov. 21, 2012 at CMC Main in Charlotte.
Born June 7, 1931 in Anson County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Fairley and Myrtle Hinson, his wife, Doris Ross Hinson, brother, Bryce David Hinson, and sister, Mary Hinson Vaughn Coley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Hinson was a patent attorney for Westinghouse and retired from his private practice in Charlotte.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Hinson was held Sunday at the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial following in the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church Cemetary. The family received friends Saturday at the funeral home.
Hinson is survived by a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Huhn of Versailles, Ky.; sister, Margie Hinson Pigg of Peachland; sister-in-law, Annie Hinson of Peachland; grandchild, Brett; fiancée JoElla DeGrio of the home; numerous neices and nephews; and his beloved cat, Faucette.
In memory of his loving wife, Hinson has established the Doris Ross Hinson Medical Scholarship Trust, c/o Robert Palmer, Attorney, 614 W. Main St., Marshville, NC 28103.
