Because the final 2012 general election results were not available in time for print, The Anson Record will publish the most up-to-date results and election news on our website and in next week’s issue, out Nov. 14.
Early voting hours were extended until 5 p.m. on Saturday after thieves stole copper from the heating and air conditioning units Friday night at the Charles Riddle Staff Development Center, Anson County’s early voting site. The thieves also cut the center’s Internet lines.
As of Sunday, a reported 6,310 Anson County citizens had participated in early voting, which surpasses the record number of early voters in the 2008 general election, 5,600.
