Chesterfield, SC — Joe Rayfield, 66, died Oct. 24, 2012 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment follow in the David’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation is scheduled for 2-3 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rayfield was born Sept. 2, 1946 in Chesterfield, S.C., a son of the late James Pruitte Rayfield and Rosa Mae Vaughn Rayfield. He graduated from Chesterfield High School, served in the U.S. Army, and was a former employee of Sonoco Products Company in Hartsville, S.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James Murray Rayfield and wife Jeri; Jadie C. Rayfield and wife Nona; and one sister, Evelena Rayfield. Survivors include three daughters, Melissa R. Jordan and husband Jason and their son Clay of Cheraw, S.C., Jo Evelyn Coble and husband John and their twin girls Lindsey and McKenzie and son Zack of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Tina Meachum and husband Jon and son Wesley of Wadesboro; two brothers, Gerald P. Rayfield of Patrick, S.C., and Charles B. Rayfield and wife Dawn of Cheraw, S.C.; three sisters, Margie R. Gaskins and husband Monroe of Chesterfield, S.C., Bonnie R. Rollins and husband Calvin of Ruby, S.C., and Rose Etta Schumacher and husband Bill of Chesterfield, S.C.; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
