A Sept. 30 shooting in Wadesboro has led to the arrest of two men. One is still at large and is being sought by authorities.
At 1:59 a.m. on Sept. 30, a Wadesboro police officer was in front of the police department on Morgan Street and heard shots fired in the vicinity. The officer headed toward West Morgan Street, and at the same time, 911 received a call about shots fired at a residence on West Morgan Street.
Officers found one victim, identified as Quadre Devunte Sturdivant, who had been shot in the arm. Two vehicles in the driveway of the residence also had bullet holes in them. Sturdivant was transported to Anson Community Hospital and treated for his injury.
The two individuals arrested in the case are Shaquille Polk, 18, of Wadesboro and Jarius Quantel Erwin, 18, of Wadesboro. Polk was charged with attempted first degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is being held in the Anson County Jail under a $200,000 bond. Erwin is also being held in the Anson County Jail with a $100,000 bond. He is charged with accessory after the fact.
Wadesboro police are still seeking Aaron Deunte Ratliff, 23, of Morven. He is being charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and discharging a weapon into an occupied property, causing serious bodily injury.
