Earl “Booty” Pate, 61, died Aug. 9, 2010 at home.

He was born Oct. 12, 1948 to the late Earl and Lois Pate.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dwight Williams and the Rev. Richard Stone officiating.

Earl Howard “Booty” Pate III was the founder and owner of the famous night attraction, Crackers.

Surviving are his wife, Trudy; one daughter, Shannon Pate of Rockingham; one son, Earl H. Pate IV of Fayetteville; a sister, Debra Pate of Hamlet; and one brother, Richard “Ricky” Pate of Rockingham.
