Over the past few weeks, Anson County teens participating in Hampton B. Allen Library's summer reading program have been painting windows, decorating flip-flops, having fun, and, of course, reading books.

One project involved the teens writing their favorite book and author, and placing that message in a bottle. Inspired by The Anson Record's Golden Football and Golden Seashell searches, the bottles have been placed in various locations around Anson County, library director Phoebe Medlin said. The bottles will be found in each Anson County town.

Find one, bring it back to the library and you and the teen will each win a prize.

There are over 20 bottles out there. One “special” bottle will be worth a $20 gift certificate when returned, Medlin added.

The Hampton B. Allen Library is located at 120 S. Greene St., Wadesboro.
