Law enforcement officials are seeking suspects in an armed robbery and potentially related car jacking.

At 4:29 a.m. Monday, an armed robbery occurred at Waffle House in Wadesboro, according to a statement from Wadesboro Police Chief Janie Schutz.

Three black males entered the restaurant wearing red bandanas and armed with guns. A fourth suspect stayed behind as wheelman in a tan car, which witnesses said might be a Honda.

An undisclosed amount of money and some items from customers were taken. The suspects were last seen heading east on U.S. 74.

Authorities believe the suspects then headed north on Highway 52 and car jacked a gold Kia Optima in Ansonville. Both vehicles were last seen heading north toward Stanly County. (See related story.)

The Wadesboro Police Department and the Anson County Sheriff's Office are working on the case.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact either agency. The Wadesboro Police Department may be reached at 704-694-2167. The Anson County Sheriff's Office may be reached at 704-694-4188.
