Ervin Polk, 50, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Annette Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery in Polkton.

He was born Sept. 18, 1959 in Anson County, a son of Ida Hall Polk and the late Kellis Lee Polk.

He confessed Christ at an early age and attended Greater Deliverance World Outreach Center in Peachland and later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Polkton. He attended the Anson County Public Schools and was a devoted friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Polk.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his sisters and brothers, Jennie (Julius) Borden, Rachel (Leon) Clyburn and Katherine (Wayne) Polk all of Polkton, Helen (James) Hinson of Lilesville, Kellis (Wanda) Polk Jr. of Monroe and Clayton Polk of New Bern; his stepbrothers and stepsisters, Edna (Randy) Polk, Michael Lee, Wanda Lee, Clifton Lee and Dennis Lee all of Polkton; a special nephew, Jerry Polk of the home and nieces, Tonya Borden and Vangela Polk both of Polkton; devoted friends of the family, Cassandra Smith of Peachland and Betty Hall of Polkton and a host of other relatives and friends.
