Congressman Larry Kissell (NC-08) got a chance to visit with members of Anson County Junior ROTC program, known as The Bearcat Battalion, Wednesday afternoon in Washington as the group visited the nation’s capital.

“I was honored to be visited by students from Anson High School JROTC,” Kissell said. "It is always refreshing to be visited by people from back home and have them bring a breath of fresh air and common sense to Washington. Anson County can be proud of these young people, as I am, for their hard work and dedication."

The Bearcat Battalion, which has been designated Honor Unit with Distinction for 16 consecutive years, also toured the Library of Congress, U.S. Capitol Building and the House gallery during the visit to Washington.
