The Anson County Chamber of Commerce, which uses the annual tournament as one of its two major fundraisers, thanked all of the contributors for helping to make the day a success. "Presenting Sponsors" were Senator Bill Purcell and Rep. Pryor Gibson. Other sponsors included: Coca Cola, Pepsi, Cheerwine, Perdue, I.H. Caffey, R.A. Jefferies, Refreshment Services, Inc., and Wadesboro IGA. There were many others that contributed as well to this event with door prizes, goodie bag items and/or hole sign sponsorship.
"We appreciate your continuous support," said Chamber executive director Lynn Edwards. "Without you we would not have been as successful. A tremendous thanks goes to Mitch Moretz and the staff at Twin Valley Country Club for their enormous help as well."
"I can’t thank the numerous volunteers enough for giving their time and hard work for this event," she added. "I would also like to thank the Leadership Anson 2010 Class for their efforts as well. It was a lot of work but most of all a lot of fun. The 2010 Chamber Golf Open was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed a great time as well as good food and beverages."
Edwards also thanked the golf committee— Todd Moore, Jilla Gathings, Terri Martin, Gay Lookabill, Trisha Threatt, Jeff Rodgers, Freddie Vega, Bobby Talton and Tommy Allen— "for coming back each year to support this event and continually seek ways to improve the 'Premier Golf Event of the Year.'"
The winners of the tournament were: first place, the Hornwood team, followed by the L.T.’s Convenient Store, LLC Team at second place and Wadesboro Tire and Auto in at third place. Split-the-pot winner was Jake Schnieder, winner of the Golf Bag donated by Pee Dee Electric was Bryan Thomas, and the winner of the picnic and wine bag donated by Job Link was Duke Rion.
