Three Wadesboro men have been arrested for armed robbery.
Two men, Anthony Markee Allen, 19, and Antonius O'Keith Owens, 20, allegedly robbed the CQ Mart on Salisbury Street at approximately 9:21 p.m. Monday, according to Wadesboro Police Chief Janie Schutz.
They were armed with handguns and shots were fired. No one was hurt.
The Wadesboro Police Department, working with the Anson County Sheriff's Office, responded and swarmed the area around the store.
Sgt. Clint Neely of the WPD spotted two suspicious individuals matching the suspects' description entering a vehicle on South Main Street. The vehicle was parked at a home.
Levon Junior Tillman, 20, of the home, was arrested and charged as an accessory. The location of the first two men was given to police by an anonymous tipster.
"[The clerk's] information, along with witnesses that were either in the store or in the parking lot, were able to help us out with descriptions," Schutz said.
She cited this, along with the assistance of the tipster, as "community policing at its very best."
Schutz said a large portion of the money taken from the store has been recovered but did not want to give details.
Allen was arrested in June and charged with murder in the shooting death of James Patrick Pickett, 31, on May 3. However, the charges were dropped, citing a lack of evidence.
