Bicycling enthusiasts started out the Discover Anson Bike Ride at Ansonville Elementary bright and early on Saturday morning, Nov. 7.
Numerous bicyclists from all over the state converged on Anson County Saturday morning, Nov. 7, for the annual Discover Anson Bike Ride.

The route— which ranged from 30 miles to 50 and 70 mies— started at Ansonville Elementary at 9 a.m., and offered scenic rides through the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge and the Uwharrie foothills.

Those who completed 30 miles returned at about 11:30 a.m.; 50 miles, 1:30 p.m., and 70 miles, at 2:30 p.m.

The Discover Anson Bike Ride is co-sponsored by the Anson County Chamber of Commerce and the Anson County Tourism Development Authority; and is overseen by the chamber's marketing and bike ride committees.
