Charlie Little Jr., 82, died Oct. 28, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center in Monroe.

Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Smith's Memorial Chapel. Interment was at the family plot in Rose of Sharon Church of God church cemetery.

He was born Jan. 11, 1927, to the late Freeman and Hannah Pine Tyson Little. He was educated in the public schools of Ansonville. He was employed by Alcoa in Badin and retired from Anson County Schools' maintenance department at Ansonville Elementary School.

He professed Christ at an early age and became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and later joined Rose of Sharon Church of God. He served as a deacon.

Little was preceded in death by his loving wife, Estella Tomlinson Little; a beautiful daughter, Clara Little Hill; a brother, Luke Little; and a sister, Mima Lee Little.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Watkins Johnson-Little of the home; six sons, Charlie (Lisa) Little of Wadesboro, Willie Little of Atlantic City, N.J., James (Mary) Little of Statesville, Alfred L. Johnson of Ansonville, Rodney (Pia) F. Johnson of Wadesboro and Quentilian J. Johnson of Charlotte; daughter, Beverly (Seth Byers) Teresa Little of Wadesboro; two brothers, Walter (Bro) Little of Ansonville and Carl (Sunny) Little of Heritage Hills Living Center in Wadesboro; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; uncle, Eugene Tyson of Philadelphia, Pa.; aunt, Kate Broadway of Heritage Hills Living Center in Wadesboro; brother-in-law, James S. Watkins of Ansonville; three sisters-in-law, Eliza Smith of Ansonville, Mary R. Little of Ansonville and Maxine Barber of High Point; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The services are in the care of Smith's Funeral Directors.
