Two people have been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in May, according to a Sept. 18 statement from the Anson County Sheriff's Office.
Jeffery Jerome Hamilton, 27, of Monroe and Shanika Jovane Hardison, 26, of Wadesboro were charged in connection with the May 15 robbery of First Bank in Polkton. Hamilton was arrested Sept. 17 and Hardison was arrested Sept. 18.

The office developed leads in the case over the previous week, Sheriff Tommy Allen said in the statement.
"We notified the F.B.I. when we made the arrests. These individuals will most likely be turned over to them in the next week or so to face federal bank robbery charges. We are holding them on state charges at this time," he said.
Hamilton's bond was set at $91,000 but he is being held without bond for a pending drug charge from Guilford County. Hardison's bond was set at $90,000.
