People given no reason to work anymore

I read a recent article in a book that said, "How can a nation survive when a majority of its citizens, now dependent on government services, no longer have the incentive to restrain the growth of government?"

The old constitutional republic that we once had is dead unless we wake up from the sleep that is leading our state and nation down that road to no return. When voters realize that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury, they're going to vote for the candidate that promises it to them.

People anymore don't care about no one but themselves. Young or old, they beg for the government to fix problems. We spend almost half the federal budget on Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. We have almost 80 million folks, the so-called Baby Boomers, fixing to start eating at the public trough. We have untold millions drawing a disability check— some deserving, some not. We have earned income credit. People drawing tax refunds and not paying one dime. Illegal aliens drawing Medicaid, food stamps. How can we keep going this way?

I know voters thought they were voting for change but it's the same old slop going in the same old trough for everyone to gobble up but the working man.
