Miss Mary Elizabeth Maner, 99, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, in the Asbury Care Center in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Robert W. Rollins Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born in Anson County on Nov. 13, 1909, a daughter of the late James Andrew and Abbie Octavia Tice Maner. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and resident of Wadesboro until she moved to the Aldersgate Retirement Community in Charlotte in 1986.
Survivors include her brother, J. Fleetwood Maner and his wife, Sally, of Wadesboro; a niece, Marilyn Pierce; nephews, Andy Maner (Georgia), Jimmy Maner (Jeanne), Paul Dennis (Paula), and Doyle Dennis (Debbie); and great nieces and nephews, Brett Brackett (Dane), Trahey Maner (Lauren), Kristofer Johnston (Fletcher), Drew Maner, Ashley Tonidandel (Scott); and many other great great nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Margie Dennis.
