Commissioner Linda Tucker said the organization received little support in the rest of the county. She recommended a $4,000 donation.
She said representatives would ask the county commissioners for assistance at the monthly meeting Tuesday.
Field of Dreams is a public baseball field in Polkton, paid for by donations from the community.
Commissioner Johnny Faulk recommended the same donation as the previous year, $3,000, and added that more could be given, if necessary.
The commissioners also discussed the use of new travel forms for Mayor Minnie Staton. While the forms originally required the signature of three commissioners to approve travel reimbursement, it was changed to a two-signature requisite.
The commissioners adopted a resolution presented by Kim Graham, with the North Carolina Parent Teacher Association, declaring a "season of achievement" from April 6 to June 9.
The council, according to the resolution, "seeks to encourage community support for positive educational outcomes for all youth in Anson County."
The resolution encourages support and involvement in education from local organizations, parents and government. Graham was on her second stop of three for the evening to ask for adoption.
The resolution has also been adopted by the school board and earlier Monday by the Wadesboro Town Council.
A proposal by Robert Segal, CPA, was considered but no action was taken. The council will continue to consider his offer.
Segal offered to "look at the franchise tax, with reference to Progress Energy to see if we were receiving all that was due us," town clerk Libby Cameron said Tuesday.
Segal would receive half of the money recovered for his services, according to commissioner Linda Tucker.
"I'm still leery of it," she said.
"It's too good to be true, and when it's too good to be true, it ain't true," Commissioner Charles Allen said.
Segal did not return a request for comment in time for publication.
