Ruby Cornwell Marsh, 87, died March 26, 2009 at Lillie Bennett Nursing Center in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. March 29, 2009 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Pigg officiating. Interment followed at Anson Memorial Park.
The family greeted friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Sunday and other times at the home of her daughter, 100 Lodge Trail in Wadesboro.
She was born Sept. 3, 1921 in Anson County to the late Frell High and Pearl Seago Cornwell. She had worked for a brief time with Burlington Industries and later worked as a nurse’s aid at Wadesboro Nursing Home and later retiring from Anson County Hospital.
Marsh was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Wadesboro, prior to moving her membership to Brown Creek Baptist Church to attend with her son and his family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Marsh, and by her brothers and sisters, Francis, Mark, Leon and James Cornwell and Juanita Morgan.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Calvin Blount of Wadesboro; her sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Linda Marsh of Myrtle Beach and Stephen Marsh; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her half brother and sister, Edwin Cornwell and wife, Rita, of Lilesville, and Linda Smith and husband, Don, of Wadesboro.
