PEACHLAND — Are you ready for an exciting hunting experience? The second wild hog roundup is scheduled for March 22 and 23 in Peachland.

Hosted by Allen’s General Store, this wild hog hunt provides a valuable service to area farmers and landowners whose land is overrun with wild hogs that damage crops. Two categories are offered this year — still hunting or team/dog hunting. A $25 hunt registration fee per hunter per category is required prior to the event. You must have your own land to hunt on. You may hunt in Anson, Stanly, Richmond or Union counties or in South Carolina but all field dressed hogs must be brought to the official weigh-in station at Allen’s General Store in Peachland.

Awards will be given out on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. after all weigh-ins have been recorded. Prize money totaling $1,700 will be given out based on weight and quantity per category.

Host and official weigh-in station is Allen’s General Store, 11389 U.S. Hwy. 74 in Peachland. Visit the website at www.AnsonCountyWildHogRoundup.com for all details and downloadable registration forms.

Registration forms must be turned in by noon on March 21. Registration forms are available for pickup at the Anson County Chamber of Commerce at 107 E. Wade St., Wadesboro, 704-694-4181; or Peachland Town Hall, 32 W. Passaic St., Peachland, 704-272-7781. Please call Brian Allen at 704-695-2859 with any questions.
