About 220 people turned out for the Anson High School Majorettes’ talent show fundraiser on Thursday.
There were a total of seven baton acts, one that included a comedy of men twirling batons to the song, “Macho Men.” The act kept the crowd laughing the entire time they were on stage. The crowd was also amazed by the performance of the advanced batons, who performed an act called “A Marshmallow World.”
There were also four vocal acts. Willie Crawford, a student from Anson New Tech, sang a cappella and did very well, missing no notes at all. Another student from Anson New Tech, Damien Justice, shared some guitar riffs while head bobbing to the electric guitar.
Both AHS and AMS cheerleaders came out to the event. The AMS cheerleaders did daring acts on the stage while cheering on for the Bearcats.
The last act was two majorettes from Wingate University, Sally James and Olivia Edwards doing “Winter Wonderland.” The majorettes did very well.
The emcee did a prayer of thanks and safe travels for the majorettes at the end of the program.
