This year’s Toys for Tots campaign served more than 3,000 Anson County children over the 2012 Christmas season, Toys for Tots coordinator Vancine Sturdivant reported.
Toys for Tots volunteers were still delivering toys to needy children just a few days before Christmas. As of Dec. 22, applications were still being filled at the Toys for Tots office in Wadesboro.
Sturdivant issued a special thank you to Commissioner Harold Smith, who sent over a large donation of toys just before the holiday. “After being informed about the great need in the county, that Escalade pulled up driven by our beautiful daughter, Evadne and you would not believe the bags of toys Commissioner Smith sent us,” Sturdivant said.
