Although Ansonians are now gearing up for Christmas, the winners of the Anson Record’s online costume contest have been announced.

Because Beachum & Lee Ford sponsored the “cutest” category in the contest, the $50 prize was awarded to Anson County’s Cooperative Extension Service employees, who dressed as the Village People for the contest.

The Cooperative Extension employees plan to use the prize money to help pay for incidentals for programs like 4-H, said Cooperative Extension director Janine Rywak.

The Cooperative Extension photo received the second-most votes in the contest, trailing close behind Shemetra Melton, who was the grand prize winner in last year’s contest as well.
