Ila Doris Tucker, 84, died Dec. 11, 2012 at Kingston Nursing Center in Conway, S.C.
She was born Jan. 3, 1928 in Anson County, a daughter of the late George and Lula Thomas Turner. She lived in Peachland before moving to Garden City, S.C., in 2001 and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church in Peachland.
She retired after 30 years of service from Stanly Knitting Mills, Oakboro.
Tucker was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Willie Fair Tucker; son, Mickey Tucker; great-grandson, AJ Lowery; brother, Monk Turner; and sister, Newell Broadaway.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Tucker wife Dolly of Garden City, S.C.; brothers, Theron Turner of Mint Hill and Don Turner of Charlotte; sister, Dolly Turner of Mint Hill; two grandchildren, Jodi (Tony) Napier of Wadesboro and Allison (Chad) Burns of Polkton; and six great-grandchildren.
A private service for family was held. A memorial will be held in N.C. for friends at a later date.
