WADESBORO — The Anson County Partnership for Children will host its annual “Visit with Santa” event on Thursday, immediately following the Wadesboro Christmas Parade.

Parents and children are invited to line up outside the Partnership’s Early Childhood Resource Center, located at 117 S. Greene St., following the parade, for a chance to visit with both Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children will have an opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas and will receive a free winter themed children’s book to take home. Parents will be allowed to take photos of their children with Santa and Mrs. Claus and will have the opportunity to register their child(ren) for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides free books in the mail each month to children birth to age 5 in Anson County.

Literacy events such as Visit with Santa are made possible through funds raised at the Anson County Partnership for Children’s annual Barn Blast fundraiser. The Partnership invites the community to join in for the 2013 Barn Blast on Jan. 25, 2013 at SPCC’s Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro. The event features an evening of excitement that includes silent auctions, a live auction, dinner, drinks, dancing and lots of fun! Proceeds from the 2013 Barn Blast will be used to support the work of the Anson County Partnership for Children including the following children’s literacy activities: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Motheread, Raising a Reader Book Bag Program, Reach Out and Read and local book distributions.

Tickets are $40 now and $50 after Jan. 11. Reserved tables for eight guests are also available for $350. Barn Blast tickets can be purchased by calling the Partnership for Children at 704-694-4036, or via our website at www.ansonchildren.org.
