WADESBORO — John Davis “Jack” Funderburke, 79, died Sept. 22, 2012 at Ambassador Health & Rehab of Wadesboro.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Susan Sides officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Funderburke was born in Anson County on March 3, 1933, a son of the late Stephen Bowman and Minnie Vaughn Funderburke. He was retired from Hornwood, Inc., with more than 40 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Sara (Richard) Holder of Wadesboro and Robin (Chuck) Preslar of Polkton; six grandchildren, Jennifer Harward, Greg Futrell, Matthew Holder, Chuck Preslar, Casie Preslar and Erin Kelley; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan McKowen, Chase Harward, Sierra Futrell and Gage Futrell. Also surviving are a brother and sister, Harold Funderburke of Morven and Mary Carpenter of Wadesboro.

Memorials may be made to Poplar Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Betsy Vanhoy, 758 Ross Wright Road, Polkton, NC 28135. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
