The race is open to the public for individuals or for teams of up to four people. The entry fee for each person is $25.
The proceeds will go to fund programs at Anson New Tech.
The race will involve geo-caching with handheld GPS units which will be provided by Anson New Tech. The teams will go from cache to cache following coordinates and clues.
The winners will be determined by the number of caches retrieved in the shortest amount of time. A major emphasis during the race will be to highlight historical sites and the general history of Anson County.
Information and assistance stations will be set up at selected spots in and around all of the communities, manned by Anson New Tech students, staff and parents. These stations will be identified to the participants in their competition packets.
There will be concessions available at these stations. Participants may purchase a $10 meal card which will allow them to get refreshments at each station and lunch at the school.
Items may also be purchased individually. A list of rules will be made available during the pre-race orientation on that Saturday morning. All participants will report to the commons area of Anson High School at 8:30 a.m. for pre-race orientation.
All participants will report back to the commons area at 3 p.m. for closing ceremonies.
