HOPE MILLS — Debbie Gilmore Stanley died on Sept. 1, 2012 at The Veterans Hospice Care in Durham.

She was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Security Police Squadron obtaining the rank of sergeant. She was a homemaker and an artist. Stanley attended First Baptist Church in Hope Mills, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham.

She is survived by her mother, Leigh Lawhon Bouldin, and her stepfather, Don Bouldin of Graham; father, Ralph Gilmore of Wadesboro; sister, Wanda Gilmore Johnson and her husband, Paul of Burlington; nieces, Stephanie (Todd) McKinney and Ashleigh Johnson; great nieces, Karon and Isleigh McKinney; great nephews, Noah and Griffin Thompson and Kyle McKinney and her special friend, Bobby Hicks of Hope Mills.

A service to celebrate her life was held Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Jackson. Burial followed at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.
