CHERAW, S.C. — Hattie Mae Rhynes Easterling, 87, died Sept. 5, 2012 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, McFarlan. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation is planed for 6-8 p.m., Friday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, S.C.

Easterling was born Jan. 22, 1925 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Willie Clayton “Bud” and Jamie Moore Lowery. She was a graduate of McFarlan School and was a retired employee of Mar Mac Company and a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Rhynes and Jim Easterling; a son, David “Pee Wee” Rhynes; a daughter, Doris R. Patterson; two grandsons, Curtis Nelson Jr. and Gerald W. “Pistol” Rhynes Jr.; three brothers, Larry, James S. and W. Clayton Lowery; and two sisters, Doris L. Gaddy and Dorothy Lowery.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Rhynes of Chesterfield, S.C, and Gerald W. Rhynes and Roger D. (Tammy) Rhynes, both of Cheraw, S.C.; four daughters, Becky R. (Curtis) Nelson of McFarlan, Kathryn R. Graham of Chesterfield, S.C., Sarah R. (David) Brock of Cheraw, S.C., and Debbie R. Holloway of Chesterfield, S.C.; her sister-in-law, Josephine Lowery Ratliff of McFarlan; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
