Bradrick Layne Wolfe, 47, of Marshville was arrested in Wadesboro on charges of a double-shooting after he was spotted in Anson during a two-county chase. Wolfe later confessed to killing the victims, David Lee Bass, 57, and David Clay Bass, 39, on Tuesday evening after a domestic situation turned violent, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Police were told to be on the lookout for a red motorcycle that night,” Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said of the arrest, which took place on City Pond Road. “It was spotted here and the trooper knew he was a suspect and approached. The guy wouldn’t comply with his commands and took off on a motorcycle. A chase was involved and eventually he was caught and taken into custody and is currently in the Union County Jail.”

David Lee Bass and David Clay Bass, both of Marshville, were Wolfe’s father-in-law and brother-in-law, respectively, according to the Observer. Wolfe confessed to the murders and is being held without bond in the Union County jail charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Records listed by the Observer show that Wolfe was already a convicted felon before the murders; his criminal record dates to the early 1980s with convictions including assault with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering, and possession of a gun by a felon.
