Funeral services were held Feb. 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Smith's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Sturdivant officiating. Visitation was at 1:30 p.m.
Interment was at Meltonville Baptist Church.
She was born April 22, 1946 to the Geneva Davis Jackson and Willie Henry on April 22, 1946. Her stepfather was Walter Jackson.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in the Anson County public schools. She was a homemaker.
Lindsey was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Jackson; three sons, John Frank Lindsey, Jessie Levon Lindsey and Michael Lee Lindsey.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie Lindsey Jr.; son, Dr. James (Adrai) William Lindsey of Apex; six sisters, Sadie (Larry) Polk of Polkton, Gloria (Eugene) Walker of Charlotte, Cynthia Jackson of Polkton, Jacqueline Jackson of Charlotte, Mary (Neal) Williams of Albemarle, Mary (Libby) Hall of Albemarle; one brother, David (Alma) Jackson of Monroe; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The services are in the care of Smith's Funeral Directors.
