The Anson County Board of Elections announced Wednesday that assistant director Steve T. Adams has been named interim elections director, effective immediately.

Adams, who has served as assistant director for the past four and a half years, will oversee day-to-day operations until such time that a new director is named.

Former Board of Elections director Tasha Coleman was released from her position on July 13 by the North Carolina Board of Elections. No reasons for Coleman’s dismissal have been announced yet, according to the N.C. Board of Elections General Counsel Don Wright.
