PEACHLAND — Mary Ann Stewart Ward, 74, died at her home on Monday, July 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Peachland Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Henegar and Rev. Charles Cauthen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beeman Family Cemetery with the Order of the Eastern Star Rites presented as part of the services.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Ward was born Sept. 29, 1937 in Anson County, . a daughter of the late John Joseph Stewart and Annie Crowson Stewart.
She was retired from the Anson County Court System and following her retirement she became a substitute teacher with Anson County Schools. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapters in both Marshville and Monroe.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Leonard Ward of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Nolan and Wanda Ward of Peachland; her daughter, Vanessa Ward of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Kaylan and Trent Ward both of Peachland and her sister, Pat Pegram of Polkton.
