Early voting for the state’s second primary will end July 14.
Since June 28, 47 ballots have been cast in Anson County. The second primary will be held July 17 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. All precincts will be open.
In the Democratic primary, John C. Brooks and Marlowe Foster are facing off for the party’s nomination to be Commissioner of Labor.
In the Republican primary, Richard Hudson and Scott Keadle are running for the chance to face Congressman Larry Kissell in November. Dan Forest and Tony Gurley are seeking the office of lieutenant governor.
Richard Morgan and Mike Causey are facing each other in the race for Commissioner of Insurance. Kenn Gardner and Ed Goodwin are competing to become Secretary of State. John Tedesco and Richard Alexander are running for Superintendent of Public Instruction.
“For a second primary, it is [a normal total],” assistant director of elections Steve Adams said of the number of ballots cast so far.
On the last day of early voting, July 14, the Board of Elections will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
