During the event, concessions will be sold including hot dogs, chips, popcorn, baked goods and drinks by local girls trying to reach a goal to get to the U.S. Barrel Team. Uptown Wadesboro, Inc., T-shirts will be for sale for $15. Plan to get one before they are gone! There will also be activities for children throughout the event.
This event is free to the public. The concert will be moved to the Ansonia Theatre in case of rain.
Uptown Wadesboro continues to offer the Farmer’s Market on the Square every Thursday this summer, 4-6 p.m., on the town square at the intersection of Greene and Wade streets.
Last Thursday, June 28, the UWI Farmer’s Market on the Square had seven tables with eight individuals with items for sale. This number is more than double what the market began with on June 21. This week, the selection expanded, including corn, squash, potatoes, beans, zucchini and blackberries with eggs, pre-order fresh chickens, watermelons, peaches, tomatoes, boiled peanuts and handmade items.
“We welcome anyone with local produce, homemade, handmade and other local items to come out and set up at one of our tables,” said Uptown Wadesboro president Brook Crider. “It is free to set up and sell, we just have one registration for you to fill out once you arrive Thanks to everyone who has come out to buy and to sell. See you July 5!”
