ANSONVILLE — Richard “Ricky” Levone Smith Sr., 59, died on Monday, June 25, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lilesville, with Rev. Charles Spivey and Rev. Jim Hunsucker officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ansonville.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro, and other times at the home.
Smith was born May 9, 1953 in Newport News, Va., a son of the late Walter Thomas Smith and the late Dorothy Nell McIntosh Smith. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, Ruby Mauldin Smith of the home; his children, Spanky (Delorse) Smith and Candi (Vernon) Eury, both of Ansonville, and Stephen Smith of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Kelly, Bradley and Jacob Smith and Angela and Kaylee Eury; and his brothers and sister, Gregory Smith of Ansonville, Mark Smith of Sanford and Sue Wilson of Norwood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Smith.
