A custodial employee of Anson High School has been placed on leave and is currently under investigation for sexual harassment of a student.
The employee is a member of the custodial department, Anson County Schools Chief Operating Officer Michael Freeman said.
“There is an incident being investigated and it is a personnel issue,” Freeman said. “We need to make sure the investigation is done properly for the safety of our students.”
The incident allegedly involves the employee following a student around campus and taking pictures of her.
As of press time, the investigation was still ongoing and no further details could be released, Freeman said, but the school board was set to take up the issue at its meeting Tuesday night.
