Mark and Mary Schuman of Marion are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Anne Schuman, to Robert Zachary Wallace of Polkton.

Wallace is the son of Melanie and Douglas Godwin and the late Robert Kris Wallace.

Schuman is the granddaughter of Juanita Lonon and the late Harold Jackson Lonon Sr. of Marion; L. Malcolm Schuman of Charlotte and the late Anne Carter Schuman.

Wallace is the grandson of Rebecca Wallace and the late Robert Brooks Wallace, Robert and Patsy Thomas and Doris Godwin and the late Glen Godwin, all of Polkton.

Schuman received a Bachelor of Science degree in human services from Wingate University. She is currently the assistant to the athletic director at Wingate University.

Wallace received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Wingate University. He is currently teaching Civics, Economics and World History at Anson Early College. Zachary will be attending Charlotte School of Law in the fall.

A March 2012 wedding is planned.
