Martha Tice Carpenter, 69, died Dec. 8, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Burn Center in Winston-Salem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 at First Baptist Church Wadesboro with the Rev. Robert Hunter and the Rev. Fred Senter officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery.

She was born May 5, 1942 in Anson County to Hubert Hardison Tice and Mary Sellers Tice.

She worked with Anson County Schools at Wadesboro Elementary School for 22 years. Following her retirement she worked for various greeting card companies keeping the cards stocked and also worked with Promotional Advertisement with demonstrations at various stores in the area.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Ed Carpenter; her children, Charles Stephens Jr. and wife Lisa of Belews Creek, Taunya Stephens of Wadesboro, and Sonya Owens and husband Tim of Mooresville.
