Chipper Delane “Chip” Templeton, 54, died suddenly following a heart attack May 11, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. May 15 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Ray Helms officiating.

There was a graveside service at 2 p.m. May 16 at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.

He was born in Cabarrus County July 23, 1956 to John William and Joyce McCollum Templeton.

For the past several years, he worked with his parents managing the family farm, farming beef cattle, hay products, grains and other gardens.

Surviving are his parents and best friends, John and Joyce Templeton of Wadesboro; and his daughter, Jessica Vickie Templeton.
