Margaret Snead Horne, 87, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at her home. Born Nov. 18, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Arch Snead and Annie Dawkins Snead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Horne, and brothers, Henry Snead and Edward Snead.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Margaret will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Peachland Gospel Tabernacle with brother Donnie Morris, Pastor Lynn Garris and sister Jean Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Peachland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. to the service time in the church's fellowship area.
Horne is survived by children, Harris Horne, Larry Horne, Teresa Campbell, Sandra Watkins and Wanda Parker, all of Peachland; brothers, James William Snead and David Snead, both of Rockingham; sister, Ella Lunsford of Hamlet; grandchildren, Terry Horne, Amy Thomas, Richard Horne, Steven Horne, Cathy Horne, Sherry Horne and Jennifer Dopkowski; great-grandchildren, Dylan Aldridge, Kristen Horne, Breanna Thomas, Trevor Flake, Zander Horne, Hailey Thomas, Joshua Martin, Maci Horne, Wyatt Horne and Brandon Dopkowski.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Community Home Care and Hospice, 2661 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Suite 104, Monroe, NC 28110.
