On Sunday, March 20, Harvest Ministries Outreach Center (HMOC) continued its sermon series, March Madness, with special guests Coach Matt Sides and the Anson High School Varsity Basketball Team. Hundreds enjoyed the day, which also included the Anson Varsity Cheerleading Squad under the direction of Christina Rose.

Coach Sides shared a motivational message with the crowd, and Lead Pastor Steve Adams offered encouraging words and used NCAA videos and stories to share a message to all in attendance.

To cap off the event, Harvest Ministries and Pastor Adams presented each player and coach with a personalized certificate of appreciation for their efforts both on and off the court. Coach Sides was also presented with a large framed poster of the team and players in action from the past year.

Many in attendance won gift cards to local restaurants and stores. And as an added bonus, one lucky guest, which happened to be Bearcat player Neal Huntley, walked away with two free tickets to a Charlotte Bobcats game.

Pastor Adams shared, “This annual event is one of the many highlights of our year for a few reasons; No. 1, it allows us to showcase the great athletes and students of Anson County Schools, and it also brings the excitement of March Madness to the church, which in my opinion should be the most exciting place we go on a regular basis.”

Adams thanked everyone who played a part, including the players, parents and cheerleaders, with a special thanks to Coach Sides and Coach Rose.
