Jennifer Martin Sikes, 41, fought a courageous battle with cancer for 12 years and found peace at last on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 while at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul McClure officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family greeted friends Monday night, Jan. 17, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Jennifer was born June 6, 1969 in Anson County, a daughter of William A. “Tony” Martin and Patricia Howell Martin. She was a graduate of Anson High School and Presbyterian Hospital School of Radiology. She had worked as an X-Ray Technician at both Union Regional Medical Center and Albemarle Medical Services and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Paul Sikes Jr. of the home; her daughters, Ashley and Abbey Sikes, both of the home; her parents, Tony and Pat Martin of Ansonville; her brother, Andy Martin of Ansonville; her grandmother, Evelyn Martin of Ansonville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Joyce Sikes of Peachland; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Reece Wilson of Peachland and her nieces and nephews, Jordan and Meredith Martin of Norwood and Riley and Ryan Terry of Peachland.
