MORVEN

Harold M. Deese, 83, died Nov. 26, 2010 at Anson Community Hospital in Wadesboro.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Nov. 28 at Morven Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Traywick and the Rev. Bill Whitlow officiating. Interment followed in Morven Cemetery.

Deese was born Aug. 22, 1927 in Anson County to the late Lucian and Lela Purvis Deese. He was retired from Hickory Construction and was a member of Morven Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, Keith Self; and by his brothers and sisters, Powell, James, and Clela Deese, Ethel Parrish, Lucille Gathings, and Essie Boswell.

Surviving are his wife, Lou Etta Deese of the home; his children, Janet (Jamie) Deese Lambert of Florence, S.C., Teresa (Freddy) Deese Gaskins of Chesterfield, S.C., Mike Deese of Ruby, S.C. and Cynthia (Chris) Deese Sorrenti of Morven; his step-daughter, Thelma Moseley of Monroe; and his brother and sisters, Martin Deese of Pageland, Hazel Surratte of Monroe and Zona Adams of Morven.
