The Wadesboro Police Department have made an arrest after a string of break-ins and larcenies from October to December, a statement from the department said.

Police arrested Gabriel Jamar Rorie, 22, of Wadesboro. He was charged with five counts of felony breaking and entering and larceny.

Rorie allegedly broke into and/or stole items from the law office of Poisson, Poisson and Bower, PLLC, an apartment on West Morgan Street, a building on Rutherford Street and two offices at Anson Community Hospital.

The statement said he took several items and medications from the hospital.

David Poisson said an employee's pocketbook was stolen from their office "two or three months ago."

He said to his knowledge it was not recovered.

The individual responsible "came in a couple of times and was wandering around the building."

He said initially employees thought he might be a client, but later told the man to leave.

The hospital could not immediately be reached for comment.
