N.C. receives $211 million in tobacco settlement payments
RALEIGH — North Carolina has received $211 million in payments from major tobacco companies, Attorney General Roy Cooper announced Friday. “This is an important settlement for North Carolina and we’re pleased to provide our state with these much needed funds,” said Cooper. Board of Elections continues voting list maintenance
Anson County Board of Elections director Steve Adams provided updates on the county’s voting list maintenance, which was begun in December. Adams said the county has processed 39 new registrations, 38 from the DMV and one in the board office. Additionally, the board processed one felony removal, 16 death removals, eight address changes, and 39 new voter cards.
